Steven Elms currently serves as a Managing Director of Aisling Capital. Previously, he was a Principal in the Life Sciences Investment Banking Group of Hambrecht & Quist. At H&Q, Mr. Elms was involved in over 60 financing and M&A transactions, helping clients raise in excess of $3.3 billion in capital. Previously, he traded mortgage-backed securities at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Earlier in his career, Mr. Elms worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative and as a consultant for The Wilkerson Group. Mr. Elms currently serves as a director of a number of life sciences companies. He received a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Dr. Anthony Sun currently serves as a Principal at Aisling Capital. Previously, he was an entrepreneur, co-founding a disease management company. Dr. Sun served as an Adjunct Instructor of Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he investigated pharmacoeconomic issues at the Leonard Davis Institute. Dr. Sun's background also includes research at the N.I.H. and medical informatics studies at Albert Einstein Hospital. Dr. Sun currently serves as a director of several life sciences companies. He received his B.S. degree from Cornell University, his M.D. from Temple University School of Medicine with A.O.A. honors and his M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Sun is a board certified internist.
Ting Pau Oei is a Partner and the head of healthcare investments for L Capital Partners, serving on the board of directors of several life sciences companies. He has 30 years of experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, most recently at Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation, where he was involved in more than 50 life sciences venture capital investments. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Mr. Oei held positions at Merck & Co., Abbott Laboratories and American Cyanamid. He received a B.A. from Union College and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
Art Pappas is the Managing Partner at Pappas Ventures, a life sciences venture capital firm with over $350 million under management and investments in more than 40 portfolio companies. Mr. Pappas currently serves as a director of several portfolio companies. He has over 30 years of operating experience as a pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry executive and venture capital investor in life science companies. Prior to founding Pappas Ventures in 1994, Mr. Pappas held senior level leadership positions at several multinational pharmaceutical companies, including Glaxo Holdings, Abbott International and Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals. He is chairman of the North Carolina Biotechnology Center's Board of Directors and is a member of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) Medical Industry Group Advisory Board. Mr. Pappas received a B.S. from Ohio State University and an M.B.A. from Xavier University.
